What is Lumecca?
Lumecca is a powerful intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) that can effectively diminish the appearance of vascular and pigmented lesions. Unlike other IPL treatments, Lumecca delivers up to 3X more energy for a more effective diminishment of pigmentation. This non-invasive treatment can be used on all areas of the body but is most commonly used on those areas regularly exposed to the sun like the face, neck, decolletage, hands, arms, and legs.
This treatment can be used to target the following:
- Age spots
- Rosacea or redness
- Vascular lesions (spider veins, telangiectasias, etc.)
- Freckles
- Sun damage
- Acne scars

During my visit to Elite Aesthetics & Wellness, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who walked me through every step of the process before getting started since it was my first time. My treatment was so relaxing and enjoyable. I fell asleep because it was such a gentle feeling and I felt so comfortable. When we finished, I couldn’t believe how incredible my skin looked. Clear, plump and youthful. The perfect treatment as I was headed to a celebration for my birthday that same evening. I would highly encourage any of my family or friends to do a treatment with this amazing team. They are trustworthy, professional, warm and produce top-notch results.

What to Expect During Your Lumecca Treatment?
Prior to your Lumecca IPL treatment, you will be asked to avoid direct and long-term sun exposure or tanning for at least one month.
During the Lumecca treatment, you will be asked to wear special eyewear to protect your eyes from the IPL and a special gel will be applied to the skin. Then, the Lumecca handpiece will be used to emit flashes of light energy, heating the underlying tissues to trigger the natural healing process and rid the body of unwanted pigment. Using a strong sapphire cooling tip, this device can regulate the temperature during treatment to ensure your comfort and prevent skin damage. Treatment time may vary depending on the number and size of the targeted areas.
Lumecca Results
Following your Lumecca treatment, you may experience mild redness or darkening of pigmented spots, which will clear up with time. Your skin will also be sensitive to sunlight, so it is important that you avoid spending time in the sun and wear sunscreen when outdoors. There is no downtime needed, so feel free to return to your regular activities as soon as you feel comfortable.
Noticeable results can be seen a few days after the first session, with continued improvement for the next 1-2 weeks. Most people require between 1-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to reach desirable results.
