Radiesse® is an injectable filler created to add volume under the skin to correct lines and wrinkles in the lower face. It can also be used to rejuvenate the appearance of aging hands. Unlike other dermal fillers which are formulated with hyaluronic acid, Radiesse® is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a gel carrier. Once injected, it produces immediate volume and continues to work by stimulating the body to create collagen for long-lasting effects. Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA, leaving behind your natural collagen.

Healthy women and men who are looking to soften mild to moderate wrinkles and lines in their lower face are ideal Radiesse® candidates. However, you should not receive this treatment if you are pregnant or nursing, have a bleeding disorder, or have an allergy to lidocaine or any ingredients in this product. A consultation appointment at our office is the best way to determine if this treatment is a good match for you.
During your Radiesse® appointment, your injector will begin by cleansing the treatment area and applying a topical numbing cream to ensure you are comfortable. Then, Radiesse® will be skillfully injected into the targeted areas using a small needle. Treatment is fairly quick, usually lasting about 15 minutes.
Following your injections, you may experience mild redness, swelling, or bruising, which will dissipate over the next few days. Makeup can be worn to cover up any bruising while your skin heals. There is typically no downtime required, which means you can return to your regular activities after treatment.
Most people see some results minutes after the treatment with better results developing over time. Overall, your beautiful, natural-looking results can last from 1-2 years.
